Creve Coeur 7K Weather Update
We have been in constant communication with the St. Louis County Parks Department this week regarding the possibility of being able to safely host the Snowball Series 7K at Creve Coeur Park this coming Saturday. The path around Creve Coeur Lake accumulated several inches of snow over the weekend, and the forecasted temperatures throughout this week will not be warm enough to melt the snow accumulation by Saturday morning. If anything, any melt that may occur today will only turn to ice with the upcoming drop in temperatures Thursday, Friday and Saturday, making the paths even less safe. Taking all of that into consideration, it was agreed upon by us and the Parks Department that we would not be able to safely host the event at Creve Coeur this Saturday.
We attempted to find an alternative date with the Parks Department so that we could reschedule the event and still have an in-person 7K at a later date. Unfortunately, we could not find an available date that worked for the Park and the Soccer Complex over the next few weeks, so we will be converting the 7K event to a virtual only option. While we are disappointed that we won't be able to have you all join us in person this weekend, we made every effort to try and reschedule it.
Series Participants
We will have 7K finisher medals at the remaining races in Kirkwood and Lafayette Square, so you can get your 7K medal at the next race you attend. Submitting times is optional, but if you would like to do so, you can do so on the results page here. Please note that we will not be taking virtual 7K times into account for the series scoring, so series standings will now be based on your best 3 scores, rather than best 4.
Single Race Participants
We will have 7K finisher medals at the remaining races in Kirkwood and Lafayette Square, so if you will be attending one of those events, you can get your medal there. If you do not plan on attending any of the remaining races, please email jake@s2fevents.com and we will ship you your finisher medal at no cost. Submitting times is optional, but if you would like to do so, you can do so on the results page here.
We apologize that we are not able to have the event, and did not come to the decision lightly. However, participant safety and having an enjoyable experience was the most critical factor for both Start 2 Finish and St. Louis County Parks when it came to making the decision. Please let us know if you have any questions.
